Enterprise communications platform startup Trengo raises $36M

Enterprise communications platform startup Trengo B.V. announced today it has raised $36 million in new funding to accelerate international expansion and further develop its technology.

The Series A round was led by Insight Partners and Peak. Including the new funding, Trego has raised $27.91 million to date, according to data from Pitchbook.

Founded in 2017, Trengo offers what it describes as a “shared multichannel team inbox” designed to improve communications within an enterprise. The company’s application streamlines emails, social media, WhatsApp messages and calls into a collaborative inbox to improve the way enterprises communicate with their clients.

Trengo is attempting to address the pace of digital transformation in business communications and the development of new communication channels. The company says that these are often daunting and can create overload, chaos, inefficiency and stress among employees. Added to that is the rapid shift to remote working in the age of COVID-19 that has put even more pressure on employees to remain in alignment within their teams.

By combining omnichannel communication, Trego says that its platform helps companies improve communications with customers and teams by merging CRM, social channels and communication tools. The result, the company claims, is an efficient and consistent way to improve customer satisfaction and productivity, leading to increased productivity, sales and customer satisfaction.

The Trego platform is currently used in 60 countries by more than 2,000 active customers. Notable clients include Europcar Group S.A., Pixum, Yobbers B.V., Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Co. Ltd. and Pon Porsche Dealergroep.

“At Trengo, we aim to break the status quo of the market for business communications platforms,” Patrick Meutzner, founder and chief executive of Trengo, said in a statement. “Our platform raises the bar for customer satisfaction and team collaboration worldwide. Enabling organizations with an easier, more efficient and more consistent way for all their communications.”
