Nutanix .NEXT kicks off September 20 with major focus on hybrid/multicloud solutions

Since its founding in 2009, Nutanix Inc. has been at the forefront of the cloud revolution. It demonstrated to the enterprise world what could be accomplished with cloud for datacenters and the concept of a hyperconverged infrastructure.

The upcoming global virtual Nutanix .NEXT conference on September 20-23 offers an opportunity for the IT community to learn more on the latest cloud computing trends and hear from leading experts about where the IT industry is headed. That will undoubtedly include significant discussion of continued adoption of a hybrid/multicloud model.

“You are going to see a lot of focus on hybrid/multicloud solutions this year,” said Monica Kumar (pictured), senior vice president of marketing at Nutanix. “We’re going to have lots of real-world stories, hands on labs and best practices for practitioners. Business leaders will get to hear from industry visionaries around where the world of cloud is moving to, the latest and greatest innovations in hybrid/multicloud technologies, and how they can make their businesses more competitive.”

Kumar spoke with Dave Vellante, host of SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming video studio theCUBE, in a preview of the event and theCUBE’s planned coverage. They discussed continued customer interest in hybrid cloud solutions and the interactive learning opportunities available for participants during this year’s .NEXT. (* Disclosure below.)

Right cloud for right workload

Nutanix’s focus on the hybrid cloud as part of this month’s .NEXT event did not spring from a sudden revelation. The company’s own survey, the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Index, and conversations with customers showed the depth of interest in technologies for the hybrid cloud.

“Eighty-six percent of respondents in the last survey said hybrid cloud is the ideal operating model,” Kumar noted. “The net-net we are hearing from our customers is that cloud is not a destination, it’s an operating model. Customers want the right cloud for the right workload and the right application.”

Nutanix has geared this year’s event to be highly interactive, with a focus on multiple learning sessions and an opportunity to gain hands-on practice with various Nutanix products.

“IT practitioners will learn from their peers in how they are adopting cloud, what some of the myths are around cloud computing,” Kumar said. “One of the major spotlights at .NEXT will be Test Drive Live. Practitioners can get their hands on our technology and really test drive it during the event itself and learn how to create a hybrid cloud within an hour.”
