Skybox Security launches new Security Posture Management Platform
Cybersecurity management platform startup Skybox Security Inc. today announced a new release of its Security Posture Management Platform which offers to propel its customers to the next era of proactive cybersecurity.
The release, which is claimed to include the industry’s first software-as-a-service solution for security policy and vulnerability management, includes major innovations. The company says they advance the platform by continuously testing attack feasibility, exposure, remediation options and compliance across hybrid environments.
The new Security Posture Management Platform offers a fresh approach to Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management by visualizing all assets through application programming interface applications, according to Skybox. The solution integrates, identifies and prioritizes vulnerabilities using threat intelligence, identifies gaps in security controls and automatically provides remediation options.
Significant advancements to the Skybox network model further enable customers to dynamically model operational technology, information technology and hybrid cloud environments – including all networking and security data related to a specific asset.
The new release combines security posture management with vulnerability management and threat hunting. The platform associates vulnerabilities to malware by name, category and distinct classes – including ransomware, remote access trojan viruses, botnets, cryptocurrency miners and more.
The service offers expanded integrations to eliminate complexity, reduce administrative burden and provide more effective cybersecurity. The service now offers over 150 integrations to build an extensive model of a customer’s unique hybrid environment, including all of the customer’s L3 devices.
Expanded integrations include Amazon Web Services Inc., Cisco Systems Inc.’s Application Centric Infrastructure and Palo Alto Networks Inc.’s Prisma Cloud.
“Skybox equips customers with the hybrid network modeling, path analysis and automation they need to reduce the risk of a significant data breach by 55%,” Skybox Security founder and Chief Executive Officer Gidi Cohen said in a statement. “Our latest innovations are significant for customers that deploy on-prem, as well as customers that will benefit from our new SaaS solution.” That, he added, capitalizes “on the speed, scale, innovation and productivity benefits powered by the cloud to drive the pursuit of broader digital business opportunities.”
Skybox is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $284.8 million, including a round of $150 million in October 2017. Investors include CVC Capital Partners, Pantheon Ventures, Adams Street Partners, Susquehanna International Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Benchmark.
