Application security startup ArmorCode raises $14M from Ballistic Ventures

Application security operations startup ArmorCode Inc. today announced that it has secured $14 million in new funding.

The Series A round was led by Ballistic Ventures, which also included Sierra Ventures, Cervin Ventures and several individual investors. The new funding brings Armorcode total venture capital raised to $25 million, including an $8 million round in January.

Founded in 2020, ArmorCode aims to transform AppSec into a scalable and cost-effective process, making applications secure by delivery. The company’s platform consolidates application security tooling, streamlines application security processes, increases business agility and improves developer productivity to help companies take charge of increasingly complicated application security environments.

The company’s platform seeks to address the issue in which many organizations prioritize speed over security when releasing software. Businesses prioritizing shipping applications leads to many applications launching without the necessary security checks and leaves organizations vulnerable. ArmorCode says its platform solves this problem by delivering a unified view into customers’ AppSec posture, vulnerability and compliance management, and DevSecOps workflow automation.

The ArmorCode platform includes application security posture management which simplifies AppSec operations by providing a centralized view of all security findings across application and infrastructure security. The platform offers a streamlined continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline and DevSecOps orchestration for tighter collaboration between developers and AppSec engineers.

The service also offers Continuous Compliance with industry-standard compliance regimes, including SOC2, GDPR, FedRAMP and OWASP Top 10, among others.

“The need for applications to ship fast, ship secure and compliant has become more critical than ever,” Nikhil Gupta, chief executive officer and co-founder of ArmorCode, said in a statement. “This funding and being able to close it in only two weeks provides further evidence of the importance of improving AppSec and breaking down the silos separating development, security and operations.

Since launching out of stealth in May 2021, Armorcode says it has seen strong growth, including seven-figure annual recurring revenue and customers that include Fortune 100 enterprises.
