New KnowBe4 app delivers security awareness and compliance training on the go
Security awareness training company KnowBe4 Inc. today announced a new service application designed to empower users by introducing security awareness and compliance training on the go.
The new KnowBe4 Mobile Learner App brings security awareness and compliance training to mobile devices at no additional cost to customers. The new app enables end users to complete their security awareness and compliance training from their tablets or smartphones, giving them constant access.
KnowBe4 argues that although a large majority of the world’s population uses smartphones, traditional training methods often have yet to embrace apps for training. Companies can improve user engagement and strengthen their security culture by allowing users to complete their security awareness and compliance training from mobile devices.
The app was designed with both users and administrators in mind by broadening the protection of the largest attack surface and covering employees that may not have access to a desktop or laptop device.
For companies, the app keeps employees on track to reach their learning requirements with easy access to training available with a few taps. The app provides access to an organization’s security awareness and compliance training library from a mobile device and also helps users associate security with their personal devices, keeping it top of mind all the time rather than only when they are at work on their computers.
“The KnowBe4 Mobile Learner App is the first of its kind to launch in the security awareness and compliance training space, making it easier than ever to train users while subsequently strengthening an organization’s security culture,” Stu Sjouwerman, chief executive officer of KnowBe4, said in a statement. “This new app will enable IT and security teams to improve engagement and completion rates for required training thanks to a seamless user experience.”
The new app follows the release by KnowBe4 of “SecurityCoach,” a service designed to provide real-time security coaching to reduce risky behavior, on Nov. 7. The service offers human detection and response, or HDR, that correlates, identifies and responds to tens of thousands of detected events.
KnowBe4 was also in the news in October when it was announced that it’s being acquired by private equity firm Visa Equity Partners for $4.6 billion.
