Striim brings real-time data integration and streaming to AWS applications

Striim Inc. is expanding its real-time data integration capabilities with the launch of Striim Cloud on Amazon Web Services Inc., enabling customers to stream data to their AWS-based applications the moment it’s generated.

Generally available starting today, Striim Cloud on AWS makes it simple to deliver real-time, autonomous data pipelines to any application hosted on AWS. Companies can perform continuous queries, enrichment and analytics on live streaming data, rather than waiting for it to land in a target database or data warehouse as they typically would. In this way, it becomes possible to build applications that sit directly on the data pipeline, expanding their data capabilities without impacting performance, Striim claims.

Striim’s data integration software is all about easing the difficulty of moving data between different information technology environments. Exporting large volumes of data from a complex application such as a database usually involves making extensive changes to the way it’s configured. Technical challenges also arise when a company wants to continue using an application after its data has been migrated to a new environment.

Normally, it’s not enough to just migrate the data once: Any new information that’s added over time to the original application must also be brought over. Striim’s platform is able to synchronize data changes between systems automatically, and if there’s an outage, it can even pause that process in a way that avoids errors and duplicate entries.

Striim thinks these capabilities will find fertile ground among AWS users. As it explains, myriad industries such as retail, manufacturing, logistics and supply chains, healthcare and others are pushing to become more responsive and reliable.

With its real-time model for streaming data, Striim provides operations leaders in those industries with a data analytics architecture that can access the most up to date information to inform business decisions. To be effective, businesses need real-time systems that can ingest, process, query and analyze data the moment it has been generated, and that’s what Striim Cloud on AWS is meant to deliver.

“The ability to make strategic business decisions in real-time is critical to competing successfully in today’s digital economy,” said Alok Pareek, Striim’s co-founder and executive vice president of product. “Striim Cloud is a powerful SaaS platform that runs natively on AWS, giving enterprise customers an invaluable advantage in reaching this goal.“

By providing instant access to what’s happening now across multiple real-time applications, the company says, it can better inform marketing campaigns, supply chain operations and other use cases that need up to the minute information. At the same time, its platform provides a unified view of all of the data pipelines an organization relies on. This makes it much easier to add new ones or modify existing pipelines, with all of the heavy lifting done by Striim in the background.

“The ability to make strategic business decisions in real-time is critical to competing successfully in today’s digital economy,” said Alok Pareek, Striim’s co-founder and executive vice president of product. “Striim Cloud is a powerful, SaaS platform that runs natively on AWS giving enterprise customers an invaluable advantage in reaching this goal.”
