Torq Insights offers a new overlay for managing security stacks
No-code automation platform startup Torq Ltd. today announced the launch of Torq Insights, a new overlay for managing security stacks.
The company also announced that it has hit a new milestone of having executed more than 1 million daily security automations. Torq Insights is a comprehensive reporting and analytics overlay that provides the operational data needed to consistently manage, monitor and iteratively evolve the security automation stack. Using the overlay allows users to ensure they’re getting maximum protection while driving optimal efficiency, according to Torq.
The company argues that although first-generation security orchestration, automation and response or SOAR services are powerful, they also often difficult to deploy and are generally designed only for a few threat response use cases. The lack of coverage means that more effective security automation is needed.
Recognizing the gap between SOAR platforms and the need for more universal security automation, some providers have begun to offer limited automation features. Torq argues, however, that this results in piecemeal automation only exacerbated by disparate approaches and processes.
Even as automation is increasing, Torq believes that quality and efficiency have suffered. To realize the benefits of automation, it says, it closes the gaps by consolidating automation efforts, lowering technical barriers and providing analytical feedback necessary for optimized security automation.
Torq Insights, available to all its users, allows them to find data such as time saved instantly with automated workflows, the number of workflows in production at a given time, and the most active workflows, among other information.
The result, according to Torq, is increased predictability of security responses, maximum benefits from tools users have already invested in, and clear data that helps teams improve overall security efficiency. Users will soon be able to use the service to assess their automation programs against common security frameworks, compare the performance and effectiveness of internal use cases, and align to industry best practices.
Torq was last in the news in December 2021 when it raised $50 million in new funding to accelerate its expansion to meet what it said was rapidly increasing demand from enterprise customers and managed security service providers. Insight Partners, SentinelOne, GGV Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, participated in the round.
