AuthID-Okta integration assists in eliminating passwords and preventing unauthorized access

Biometric identity and authentication solutions provider authID Inc. today announced the integration of its Verified CloudConnect service with Okta Inc.’s Workforce Identity Cloud and the expanded availability of Verified 3.0’s full capabilities with Okta Customer Identity Cloud.

Verified CloudConnect complements Okta’s Workforce and Customer Identity and Access Management platforms to secure desktop and mobile devices with cryptographic FIDO2 passkeys, enrolling and securing workforce users and customers. The integration brings authID’s Human Factor Authentication to Okta workforce and customer identity clients to assist them in eliminating passwords and preventing unauthorized access.

AuthID’s HFA is said to significantly reduce the risk of multifactor authentication bypass while delivering a simplified user experience to solve major workforce and consumer authentication challenges. Additionally, HFA offers portable identity and secure account recovery to Okta customers.

“By reducing the risk of unauthorized access, account takeover and password-based attacks while ensuring user experience goes uninterrupted, our Human Factor Authentication accelerates the move to zero trust for any organization,” Tom Thimot, chief executive officer of authID, said in a statement. “By collaborating with Okta, our solutions become available to a larger group of organizations and foster a more secure digital ecosystem for all.”

Verified CloudConnect for Okta uses OpenID Connect protocols and an application programming interface-first approach to support HFA across enterprise cloud, software-as-a-service and legacy systems. The service enables streamlined access to the ecosystem of Identity and Access Management, Privileged Access Management and Endpoint Detection and Response providers. That, the company says, helps organizations secure their enterprise and consumer applications and build a zero-trust security model, which involves assuming all users are hostile unless they can provide credentials to prove otherwise.

“By integrating across customer and workforce identity, authID and Okta provide our mutual customers strong passwordless authentication that defends against cyberattacks and is easy to deploy,” Arnab Bose, chief product officer for Workforce Identity Cloud at Okta, said in a statement.
