Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne Inc. today announced plans to offer its Singularity Hologram deception solution as a service to enable security teams to detect and prevent identity-based attacks with greater speed and efficiency.

Singularity Hologram is a network-based threat deception tool that lures covert threat actors and insiders into engaging and revealing themselves. The service leverages deception and decoy technology to attract adversaries, revealing their tactics while misdirecting them from real systems and data.

Advantages of the system for security operations teams include the ability to engage attackers with real applications, data and operating systems similar to their real environments and identify the critical assets and information attackers are targeting. Users can quickly visualize network attacks, watch how they play out over time, and then use that information to strengthen their defenses.

Singularity Hologram is claimed to reduce alert fatigue with high-confidence alerts generated by decoys that contain compromised user and insider threats. Users gain a comprehensive view of the enterprise security landscape by integrating alerts with other SentinelOne technologies, including Singularity Identity and Endpoint, reducing the overall time to detect, analyze and stop attackers.

With the coming launch of Singularity Hologram as a service, SentinelOne believes it will empower customers to detect and protect against attacks even faster.

“Credentials are the new currency and attackers are aggressively targeting users to steal them and gain entry to organizations of all sizes,” Lana Knop, a vice president of product management at SentinelOne, said ahead of the announcement. “Once they land, they can quickly and easily expand. But with Singularity Hologram as a service, security teams can just as easily engage their adversaries, gather critical indicators to thwart future attacks and send them packing.”

Knop added that the offering protects identities wherever they are stored — at endpoints or in the cloud — and provides a “complete and scalable way for security teams to defend attacks across any surface and prevent breaches and business disruption.”

SentinelOne was previously in the news in April when it launchedits Singularity Security DataLake, a cloud-native security data platform solution that provides a comprehensive view of data across security ecosystems. It’s designed to enable organizations to uncover threats quickly and respond to them in a real-time, intelligent and cost-efficient manner.
