Business application development platform Instabase Inc. is set to announce Wednesday the launch of AI Hub, a new offering that includes a repository of artificial intelligence applications for content understanding and a set of generative AI-based tools.
Instabase is a platform for businesses to build customizable apps quickly using a low-code interface. It provides various tools for reading documents, data extraction and classification, natural language processing and optical character recognition.
With these tools, developers can quickly build complex business applications based on their needs, the company says. It also offers prebuilt applications for tasks such as income verification, adverse media analysis and identity verification that can be customized by users.
With its AI Hub, Instabase is expanding its collection of prebuilt apps. One of the first applications in AI Hub is “Converse,” which is a tool that enables users to ask questions of and summarize business documents, spreadsheets and images.
It can process almost any kind of document, including tax files, insurance claims, receipts, invoices and customer data. In this way, users can “chat” with any kind of content and get the information they need, as if they were speaking to a human with full knowledge of the content in question.
Instabase said the purpose of AI Hub’s Converse app is to make generative AI more accessible and simpler to use for nontechnical people. For example, a salesperson can pull out a client’s contract and ask it to summarize the key terms quickly, so they have all of the relevant details to hand.
Another application in AI Hub is “Build,” which makes it possible to build repeatable, end-to-end workflows using documents as the basic input. Users can instantly classify, extract and run analysis to build new applications to automate repetitive tasks, such as an app that analyzes and summarizes information from printed or handwritten receipts.
AI Hub also includes a number of prebuilt apps that make it simpler to automate common processes such as income and identity verification, client onboarding and other tasks that require understanding of multiple documents.
Andy Thurai, vice president and principal analyst of Constellation Research Inc., told SiliconANGLE there are lots of different solutions like Instabase AI Hub that make it possible to converse with documents. Where Instabase’s offering differs is that it’s targeted at very specific industry verticals, he said, such as insurance and banking.
“This will help non-experts to analyze legal contracts, insurance claims, 10K or other SEC filings with ease, by just uploading a document or PDF and asking the AI hub questions about it,” Thurai said. “This includes analyzing it, creating a summary, or understanding specific work or topic items in unstructured documents, spreadsheets, handwritten notes or even images.”
Instabase’s AI-powered workflow and task automation capabilities should also prove useful, the analyst said. “They will help Instabase to go after the intelligent document processing, digitization of business processes and robotic process automation markets, the last of which is huge,” Thurai added.
Instabase founder and Chief Executive Anant Bhardwaj said AI Hub is a natural evolution for the company, as its platform has a long history of incorporating the latest AI innovations, including content digitization, neural networks and, now, large language models.
“We’re entering into a period of time that will be known for AI advancement and innovation,” he said. “AI Hub is a natural extension of the innovation that has always been core to Instabase. Users around the world can now leverage this technology for nearly any use case.”
