Unlocking the potential of AI: NVIDIA and NetApp partnership for the future
In the fast-paced tech world, collaboration often leads to breakthroughs that shape industries and transform businesses. The partnership between NVIDIA Corp. and NetApp Inc. is a shining example of this dynamic.
“We have had a four-year partnership with NVIDIA here that didn’t just start last fall,” said Keith Norbie (pictured, right), head of worldwide partner solutions and sales acceleration at NetApp. “In this time where you may have uncertainty about where the direction of VMware might go or the direction about what gen AI might become, in this part where people seek clarity, NetApp is this trusted partner, this trusted source to work with NVIDIA and really help bring clarity to the confusion.”
Norbie and Matthew Hull (left), vice president of global artificial intelligence platform solutions at Nvidia, spoke with theCUBE industry analysts John Furrier and Rob Strechay at VMware Explore 2023, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed NetApp and NVIDIA teaming up to help companies navigate AI’s nuances, particularly within VMware Inc.’s ecosystem. (* Disclosure below.)
From graphics cards to generative AI: Evolution of AI and computing power
The journey of NVIDIA from a graphics card company to a global leader in AI is laudable. NVIDIA recognized the global AI shift early on and has worked relentlessly to provide not just hardware, but a complete solution stack for it, according to Hull.
Their graphics processing units, central processing units and data processing units are at the heart of this transformation, delivering immense computing power necessary for processing large datasets and running complex algorithms.
“We’re here with VMware, the operating system of the enterprise,” Hull explained. “We have made it extremely easy for every organization out there to dive into AI. We have full stack solutions whether it’s in the true enterprise, whether it’s in the developer stages, you can buy an AI solution and get started immediately.”
