Kubernetes optimization and management startup PerfectScale raises $7.1M

Kubernetes optimization and management platform startup PerfectScale Inc. announced today that it has raised $7.1 million in new funding to expedite its pace of innovation and expand its sales and marketing infrastructure.

Founded in 2021, PerfectScale’s Autonomous Optimization and Governance Platform has been designed to streamline so-called Day 2 operations — managing and optimizing an application or system once it has been deployed — by allowing teams to take control of their Kubernetes environments. The company says its solution allows any Kubernetes users, from novices to experts, to rightsize and right-scale environments to balance the demand, performance and cost of their application.

The platform was created to tackle the issue wherein the rapid pace of adoption is impeding the ability of organizations to support the complexity and management of resources that come with large-scale, cloud-native infrastructure. PerfectScale argues that the key to success lies in mastering Day 2 Kubernetes operations, where optimizing costs and performance emerges as a pivotal focus.

One feature offered by the company, called PerfectScaler, is a Kubernetes scaler that eliminates manual efforts and risks associated with optimizing resource capacity. PerfectScaler says its automated actions safely self-optimize and self-heal the infrastructure while adjusting to constant changes impacting the environment. The results are said to allow DevOps and SRE teams to enjoy more resilient, highly available applications with fewer service level agreement breaches, better cost containment and the environmental sustainability of their entire Kubernetes infrastructure.

Blumberg Capital LLC led the seed round, with UpWest Labs Inc., Prelude Ventures LLC, K2 Access Fund LP, Inner Loop Capital LP, Triangle Tweener Fund LP and Firestreak Ventures LP also participating. PerfectScale will also use the new funding to assist with the launch of a comprehensive partner program to support the ever-growing Kubernetes community, managed service provider and consultancy ecosystems.

“We’ve identified staggering inefficiencies in the oversight of Kubernetes infrastructure — businesses either overextending resources and incurring cloud costs upwards of 300% more than necessary or inadequate resource allocation resulting in service disruption,” Amir Banet, co-founder and chief executive officer of PerfectScale, said in a statement. “Our mission is simple yet transformative – to level the playing field for optimizing Kubernetes costs and performance, turning what was once only attainable to elite DevOps and [research and development] teams into an accessible solution for all.”
