Cognizant introduces Flowsource, a new generative AI platform for software engineering
Information technology services company Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. today announced a new generative artificial intelligence platform called Flowsource designed to power modern engineering.
Cognizant Flowsource integrates with all stages of the software development lifecycle and incorporates digital assets and tools to help cross-functional engineering teams deliver high-quality code faster, with increased control and transparency. The generative AI service also provides a single experience connecting the work of all stakeholders and the development community.
The new solution has been created to assist businesses rapidly becoming technology businesses as market dynamics continue to evolve. Cognizant argues that emerging technology, new competitive entrants and new customer demands require organizations to achieve a pace of change that is often unattainable given the complexity of their technology estates, fractured use of modern engineering processes, and legacy debt and costs.
That’s where Flowsource steps in. It offers generative AI-enabled tooling and process orchestration throughout the developer experience, allowing team members to work faster and with more focus. In one example, teams can self-service with templates to provision code and environments, automate testing and documentation, leverage enterprise knowledge bases to drive code and component reuse, and speed coding processes with trained copilots.
Using Flowsource, business and engineering stakeholders gain more transparency into the organization’s software engineering ecosystem. Cognizant says the transparency offered by Flowsource is said to allow problems to be solved faster, the impact to be better understood and strategy to be delivered more seamlessly. It also works as an extendable platform that allows enterprises to add third-party plugins to accelerate work processes further.
“In the generative AI era, the pursuit of innovation is putting pressure on organizations to work faster – but working faster must be sustainable and ‘more speed’ shouldn’t mean ‘more problems,’” said Prasad Sankaran, executive vice president of software and platform engineering at Cognizant. “Cognizant Flowsource addresses this growing need and helps organizations improve quality and consistency across development. The result is better time to market for new and innovative offerings, as well as improvements in scale that can enable these enterprises to stay ahead of competition.”
