Resonance launches ‘full-spectrum’ cybersecurity platform for Web3 projects
Resonance Security Inc., a “full-spectrum” Web3 cybersecurity provider, today announced the launch of its full-featured platform for Web3 projects that integrates best practices for both blockchain security and traditional application security into one service.
Web3, otherwise known as the decentralized web, is built atop blockchain technology. It allows the development of peer-to-peer apps and token-based economies where financial transactions happen without the need for centralized governance or intermediaries. The industry has spawned numerous cryptocurrency tokens, including bitcoin and Ethereum, that have garnered massive market caps — $1.4 trillion and $471 billion, respectively — and a raft of applications that use these tokens.
Markets, exchanges, apps and games that use blockchain-based tokens require specialized security efforts to prevent attackers from subverting vulnerabilities within Web3 ecosystems. These include smart contracts, which are self-executing code that triggers on particular conditions allowing the creation of decentralized applications. Smart contracts are written in programming languages such as Rust, Cadence, Solidity and Move.
While most Web3 security platforms focus primarily on detecting vulnerabilities and monitoring the blockchain side, Resonance additionally combines automated security analysis and audits for traditional networking and app vulnerabilities in the information stack. Its platform includes vulnerability scanners, hacker honeypots, data leak detectors. and other tools.
They’re designed to detect attackers aiming for legacy infrastructure attached to the Web3 side, such as Amazon Web Services, browser plugins and mobile applications. All of these elements are also attack surfaces that must be accounted for in a comprehensive cybersecurity scheme.
To defend against this, Resonance built a platform that includes six built-in applications and more than 30 established traditional and Web3 security tools from industry partners. These tools combine together to form a holistic approach that users can view from a dashboard to see their overall security score and drill down on their entire security posture.
“We will make full-spectrum cybersecurity effortless for users and projects of any technical expertise, budget, scope and timing so they can continue focusing on growth, and easily apply a shield against evolving cyberattacks,” said Resonance Chief Executive Charles Dray.
In addition to the platform’s security tools, Resonance also includes vulnerability and security issue mitigation guidance. Customers will also receive education involving Web3 and legacy attack vectors in order to expand their understanding of the growing attack landscape, including emerging best practices, techniques and evolving threats.
