Runtime Observability: Dissecting the implications of the Boomi/Apica partnership on enterprise data management and AIOps. BIG DATA

Boomi partners with Apica for improved runtime observability and workflow health management

The surge in artificial intelligence has brought with it a need for improved data monitoring across multiple operating environments. Application programming interfaces are one such scenario.

In keeping with the company ethos of accelerating digital connectedness through its platform, Boomi LP has allied itself with Apica Inc. for cellular-level runtime observability as enterprises leverage data resources for artificial intelligence.

“We’re seeing AI coming on board, and it’s really putting a lot of fire into spaces like data management and API management and processes and applications that we know are just proliferating at breakneck speed,” said Ann Maya (pictured, right), EMEA chief technology officer of Boomi. “We’re advancing our vision and our platform in those areas, and we made some pretty exciting announcements today about our API solution.”

Maya and Ranjan Parthasarathy (left), chief product and technology officer of Apica, spoke with theCUBE Research’s John Furrier and Savannah Peterson at Boomi World, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the Boomi/Apica partnership as a case study in the future of integration, data management and AI. (* Disclosure below.)

The future of iPaaS and data management

Apica provides load testing and web performance monitoring tools for companies to optimize the performance of their cloud and mobile applications. With digital experience monitoring, automatic problem solving and advanced data handling, complex issues can be quickly identified and fixed before exacerbation occurs.

In partnering with Apica, Boomi is adding advanced runtime observability components to complement its platform by providing insights into critical systems, according to Parthasarathy.

“It works with existing Boomi environments with customers that are already running workflows,” he said. “Today, customers run complex workflows on mission-critical applications inside the Boomi platform. What we are offering as part of RTO is the ability to now look inside these environments where we gather metrics around health and performance to make sure that these critical systems are always up and running.”

In keeping with the ongoing theme of data democratization, there’ll be a transformation of traditional roles. Boomi’s platform empowers employees across various departments to harness the power of data, driving innovation and efficiency at every level, according to Parthasarathy.

“RTO gives them insights into the runtime environment where you may be running the application in a Linux machine or a Windows machine,” he said. “You want to see exactly what’s happening inside the operating system. Things like network performance, memory usage, CPU usage, storage, file system — gather all of that in a way that is streamlined and centralized and makes it easy for somebody to know what is working or failing.”

Boomi’s vision for the future focuses on the integration of AI and data management. Enterprises need clean, reliable data as the fuel for AI, highlighting Boomi’s expanded focus on data management solutions through runtime observability. The integration of AI and analytics is set to reshape workflows and drive operational efficiency across industries, according to Maya.

“What we’re seeing is [integrated platforms as a service] becoming a core function,” she said. “It’s no longer if, it’s when you must use it today. There’s absolutely no way you would go back and try to do manual integrations anymore. We’re saying that data management is going to become a very key aspect because data is fuel for AI. And garbage in, garbage out if your data’s not good.”
