Multicloud environments and AI: Dell Technologies’ strategy for modern enterprises

As businesses strive to optimize their IT infrastructure, the interplay between on-premises solutions and multicloud environments becomes increasingly significant.

The industry is seeing a shift towards more flexible and comprehensive solutions that cater to these evolving needs. These solutions aim to deliver a consistent experience regardless of where the workloads are managed, according to Varun Chhabra (pictured, right), senior vice president of product marketing, ISG, and telecom at Dell Technologies Inc.

Dell’s David Singer and Varun Chhabra talk to theCUBE analysts about multicloud environments.

“I think artificial intelligence, as you were saying, it’s all over the topic of conversation, but multi-cloud hasn’t gone away,” he said. “We think, actually, with AI, it’s going to become even more important than ever.”

Chhabra and David Singer (left), senior vice president of the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell, spoke with theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante and Savannah Peterson at Dell Technologies World, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the integration of AI with multicloud environments and how Dell Technologies’ Apex platform addresses the challenges and opportunities this presents for enterprise companies. Dell’s comprehensive approach to multicloud environments

Multicloud environments offer numerous benefits, including flexibility, scalability and resilience; however, they also introduce significant complexity, particularly in terms of data management and workload distribution. To address these challenges, Dell Technologies’ Apex platform emerges as a pivotal solution, Singer concluded.

“We started Apex off really early on, changing the experience of how customers consume and procure,” he said. “Last year was all about dipping our toe in the water of how we change IT operations, drive simplicity with navigators and simplify that multi-cloud motion. We also expanded across the entire portfolio as we came aboard … this year, we take it further.”

The introduction of AIOps within Apex represents another significant advancement. This feature leverages AI to enhance infrastructure observability and incident management, helping IT operators quickly identify and resolve issues, according to Singer.

“We have evolutions of our management and our cloud management capabilities all delivered via SaaS within AIOps. That’s new for us,” he said.
