New Darktrace managed service combines AI and expert analysis for advanced threat containment

Machine learning cybersecurity firm Darktrace PLC today announced the launch of a new managed detection and response service that combines artificial intelligence-powered threat containment with 24/7 human expert support.

Called Darktrace Managed Detection & Response, the new service brings together Darktrace’s detection and response capabilities with AI to augment internal security teams with AI-powered threat containment and alert management. Doing so, the company says, delivers security teams to ability to focus resources on more strategic security efforts, such as improving cyber resistance.

The new release seeks to address security leaders and security operations centers wanting to transform security operations as AI rises as a new threat vector, but struggling with resources and time to do so. The new service offers Darktrace customers expanded hands-on analyst support with 24/7 managed detection and response. It features SOC investigation and action on Darktrace alerts across the network, cloud, operational technology, endpoints and software-as-a-service applications.

Darktrace Managed Detection & Response offers the services of Darktrace’s SOC team. They monitor customer environments for high-priority alerts indicative of an attack, conduct investigations to alert customers of potentially severe incidents and begin initial triage with human engagement on the AI’s actions.

The Darktrace SOC reviews the response measures the autonomous AI has taken. It can then take proactive steps on behalf of the customer to contain threats, buying valuable time for internal teams to prepare for engagement while also gathering essential context for effective remediation efforts.

“As cyberthreats become more sophisticated and frequent, organizations are looking for ways to help improve their security outcomes without adding to their team’s existing workloads,” said Chief Revenue Officer Denise Walter. “Our AI-powered MDR service gives our customers added peace of mind that a Darktrace human expert is monitoring their environment 24/7 to keep them protected.”

The service gives customers unlimited access to Darktrace’s analyst team for 24/7 support, expert assistance during live threat investigations and day-to-day operations. Other features include semi-annual operational efficiency reports that offer consultancy insights with objectives and recommendations for optimizing and tuning deployments, improving overall cybersecurity hygiene.

Another feature, quarterly analyst MDR reviews, ensures deployments reach their full potential with tailored advice on streamlining workflows, model optimization and custom use cases. Regular MDR service reports summarize all alerts raised and resolved by Darktrace’s SOC, ensuring full-service transparency.
