Empowering enterprise evolution: Harnessing hybrid cloud solutions for digital transformations

Hybrid cloud solutions are emerging as the cornerstone for modern enterprises looking to optimize their infrastructure.

These solutions seamlessly blend cloud-native approaches with on-premise environments, empowering organizations to harness the full potential of artificial intelligence and foster collaborative ecosystems. By accelerating innovation and driving business growth, hybrid cloud solutions are transforming the way companies operate. Leading this charge are IBM Corp. Consulting and Red Hat Inc., whose strategic partnership is making it easier for businesses to migrate their infrastructure and navigate their digital transformation journey.

“IBM Consulting clients look to us to solve their hardest problems: complex architecture modernization, migration, virtualization, building out hybrid cloud and hybrid cloud by design,” said Aparna Sharma (pictured, left), managing partner and general manager of hybrid cloud services at IBM. “You talked about it a little bit, hybrid cloud, public cloud, private cloud, multi-cloud, on-prem, clients need a strategy and an architecture for all of it to work seamlessly. That’s what we are helping our clients with and it’s been very, very exciting.”

Sharma and Stefanie Chiras (pictured), senior vice president of partner ecosystem success at Red Hat, spoke with theCUBE Research’s Rob Strechay and Bob Laliberte at Red Hat Summit, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed implementing hybrid cloud solutions, how these solutions further enable AI and business growth and the importance of driving innovation through automation and AI. Enhancing AI implementation with hybrid cloud solutions

Aparna Sharma, managing partner and general manager of hybrid cloud services at IBM Corp., and Stefanie Chiras, senior vice president of partner ecosystem success at Red Hat Inc., talks with theCUBE during Red Hat Summit 2024 about hybrid cloud solutions.

IBM’s Aparna Sharma and Red Hat’s Stefanie Chiras talk with theCUBE  about hybrid cloud solutions.

For AI implementation to be completely functional, it must be on a consistent platform. AI is the ultimate workload for hybrid cloud, Chiras said, because it follows the data.

“As we’ve seen the evolution of cloud in general, we’re seeing much more intentionality around how applications or workloads are deployed across hybrid cloud,” she said. “That’s one key thing about hybrid. Every customer is different. They have a different on-prem data strategy, they have a different public cloud and it could be multi-cloud. Our goal is to build the flexibility so that a customer can decide what’s important to them, for their business, for their workloads.”

For business leaders looking to start adopting gen AI on their infrastructure, Sharma had some helpful words. First, she said, start with business outcomes and figure out what outcomes are trying to be achieved.

“Second, drive the right architecture. And then number three, think about your developer community,” Sharma said. “Drive productivity. If you’re talking about 10,000 developers in an organization, even if we can bring 20% productivity through automation, through Gen AI, think about how far that goes.”
