Cybersecurity awareness training platform startup Cyber Guru Srl announced today that it has raised $25 million in new funding.
It plans to use the money to accelerate its artificial intelligence-driven training roadmap, increase sales and marketing resources, and expand its go-to-market operations across Europe.
Founded in 2017, Cyber Guru offers a modern security awareness training platform that allows organizations to increase their resistance to cyberattacks by changing employee behavior. The platform trains employees to become the first line of defense against cyberthreats while also minimizing the impact on organizational productivity.
The company’s platform offers three main products. One is Cyber Guru Awareness, which provides ongoing training on network and digital threats. Another is Cyber Guru Phishing, a program that uses simulations to educate users on identifying and avoiding phishing attacks. And there’s Cyber Guru Channel, which delivers training content through storytelling and narrative formats.
Cyber Guru’s training solutions also incorporate gamification and micro-learning techniques to maximize user engagement. The programs aim to encourage secure digital habits within organizations by offering continuous, interactive learning.
Under the hood, the company uses an AI-powered adaptive machine learning model and behavioral science methodology to offer “a holistic security awareness training platform that is engaging, effective and which delivers a real improvement in an organization’s security posture.”
Cyber Guru claims a million active users in more than 90 countries across 700 customers using its platform.
Riverside Acceleration Capital led the Series B round, with Educapital SAS and existing investors Adara Ventures SICAR and P101 SGR SpA also participating.
“Our mission is to improve an organization’s resistance to cyberattacks by transforming user behavior,” said founder and Chief Executive Gianni Baroni. “With our proprietary machine learning model and the use of advanced learning methodologies, we’ve built a comprehensive security awareness training platform that is effective in managing and reducing human risk and now we are poised to take this vision worldwide.”
Including the new funding, Cyber Guru has raised $29.38 million to date, according to data from Tracxn.
