Celonis Process Intelligence provides connective tissue to manage supply chain challenges

Celonis SE believes that supply chain problems are process intelligence problems, and it has built solutions around helping businesses address the challenges when pipeline issues occur.

Celonis Process Intelligence enables enterprises to create end-to-end visibility in a supply chain model that can often be complex and difficult to manage. The key is to leverage automation in the application of process intelligence to take appropriate action when problems arise, according to Peter Budweiser (pictured), global lead for supply chain at Celonis.

Peter Budweiser, Global Lead at Celonis, talks with theCUBE about process intelligence during Celosphere 24.

Celonis’ Peter Budweiser talks with theCUBE about process intelligence.

“We really tap into this position of where we can apply process intelligence holistically across the supply chain and essentially enable you to use that intelligence for decision making, taking actions using AI and improve fundamentally the way you work in supply chain,” Budweiser said. “Automate the decision making and make it efficient.”

Budweiser spoke with theCUBE Research’s Savannah Peterson and Rob Strechay at Celosphere 24, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how process intelligence is transforming supply chain management. (* Disclosure below.)

Embracing process intelligence and optimization

Celonis has found that interest in supply chain issues cuts across industries. While different verticals will have specific requirements for supply chain visibility, process optimization is a solution that can generate benefits for all.

“The appetite to optimize processes across different companies is very large,” Budweiser said. “What is the typical collaboration with your suppliers, with your customers? In automotive, for example, that integration is very, very tight. In the end, these benefits should be there for everybody, not only for one particular company.”

Supply chain management has also become heavily reliant on data. Celonis has introduced an End-to-End Lead Times App which enables customers to understand how different processes across the supply chain interact with each other. This requires access to data that can provide meaningful operational insight.

“Building on the visibility aspect, it brings the discussion to database,” according to Budweiser. “Previously, people were not sure about what is the accepted rate and what is the status. Where is the process now? Now it’s a database discussion to say, ‘This is the situation, this is what the data says.’”
