Nebius AI Studio adds its first text-to-image models to support creative app development

Artificial intelligence computing infrastructure company Nebius B.V. today announced it’s updating its inference-as-a-service platform for developers with the addition of new, open-source text-to-image models.

Nebius AI Studio provides a flexible, user-friendly environment for developers to get started building AI applications, and besides offering access to a vast collection of large language models, it’s also one of the most affordable platforms of its kind in terms of compute costs. Because the company operates its own cloud infrastructure, it can offer some of the lowest prices-per-token on the market.

The company was formerly known as Yandex N.V., which was once the parent company of the Russian search engine Yandex. However, the company later sold that business but kept its data center infrastructure, before pivoting to become an AI cloud infrastructure service. It’s known for providing low-cost access to Nvidia Corp.’s most advanced graphics processing units.

Nebius AI Studio runs on that infrastructure, and provides access to one of the most extensive libraries of LLMs available. With today’s update, it’s adding new text-to-image models, Flux Schnell and Flux Dev, which were developed by the AI startup Black Forest Labs Inc., a rival to OpenAI.

Developers who build AI applications in the Nebius AI Studio will be able to integrate the new models directly, enabling their user to create high-quality visuals such as product visuals, marketing materials and media content, for instance. The company also touts some of the fastest rendering speeds available, saying images will be generated in a matter of seconds.

Applications built using Nebius AI Studio can support up to 100 million tokens per minute, meaning they can scale to thousands of users while maintaining high performance and rapid rendering. Its application programming interface offers unlimited throughput, enabling massive volumes of data to be processed without delays. In addition, it boasts a flexible pricing model, with costs becoming progressively cheaper the more resources a customer uses.

Nebius said users will be able to access the new models via a single API within the Nebius AI Studio Playground, while taking advantage of advanced customization options.

Co-founder and Chief Business Officer Roman Chernin said the company plans to build on today’s update in the near future by adding its first text-to-video generation models, enabling developers to build even more creative applications.
