New 7AI platform deploys autonomous AI agents to streamline security operations

Agentic artificial intelligence security startup 7AI Inc. today announced the launch of a platform that aims to redefine security operations by offloading essential “nonhuman work” to autonomous AI agents.

7AI’s platform differs from AI security operations center analysts, chatbots and copilots through a system of specialized AI agents that can handle repetitive security tasks quickly, comprehensively and autonomously. Echoing the language of other AI companies looking to replace jobs currently staffed by people, it says that can free highly trained cybersecurity professionals to focus on higher-value work that improves security outcomes.

AI agents are autonomous software programs designed to analyze data, make decisions and execute tasks without human intervention. The agents operate within predefined rules or use machine learning to adapt and improve over time, making them ideal for automating repetitive or complex processes across various domains, the company says.

7AI’s agents seek to address the issue wherein cybersecurity employees spend time on essential work that doesn’t require human creativity, such as triaging alerts, enriching signals, correlating telemetry and searching for known threats. The company argues that though these tasks are vital, they are also time-consuming, making them ideal for AI agents in an industry with a longstanding shortage of trained personnel.

The autonomous swarming agents being offered by 7AI are designed to categorize alerts based on their nature — whether related to endpoint detection and response, cloud security, email threats or identity management — and then dispatch the appropriate specialized agents for investigation.

Once deployed, 7AI’s expert agents work in parallel to query multiple data sources within a given organization to ensure thorough threat analysis. The findings from the investigations are then compiled into actionable insights and integrated into analysts’ workflows, ticketing systems, or automated playbooks for resolution.

Beyond automation, 7AI’s agents also leverage enterprise insights to make decisions aligned with a company’s internal policies, roles and unique risk landscape. The contextual awareness of the agents allows the platform to reduce false positives, enhance response accuracy and deliver tailored security solutions that evolve with an organization’s needs.

“Our mission isn’t to make people more efficient at nonhuman work — it’s to give tedious but necessary tasks to AI agents that are faster, more consistent and infinitely scalable,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Lior Div.

7AI was founded last year by Div and Yonatan Striem-Amit, the creators of cybersecurity platform provider Cybereason Inc. and is backed by $36 million in seed funding from Greylock Partners, Spark Capital and CRV.
