New Microsoft Sales Agents aim to automate tasks and improve deal management

Microsoft Corp. has announced the launch of new AI-powered Sales Agents designed to help businesses accelerate deal cycles and boost productivity by automating key sales tasks.

The new agents, announced Wednesday, are integrated into both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Dynamics 365 and work alongside sellers to manage meeting preparation, real-time customer interactions and post-meeting follow-ups, all while surfacing insights from customer relationship management data to guide next steps.

The first agent is embedded directly into Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook, Teams and Word and is designed to keep sellers working in the tools they use every day while delivering AI-powered insights and recommendations.

The agent helps sellers prepare before meetings by pulling together account details, recent communications and relevant documents. The agent then automatically generates briefing summaries so teams can enter conversations with full context.

During live customer meetings, the agent provides real-time guidance by suggesting talking points, surfacing sales data and highlighting action items. After meetings, the agent drafts personalized follow-up emails, recommends next-best actions and summarizes key discussion points.

The Sales Agent additionally reduces the need to switch between apps and systems by embedding the workflow into Microsoft 365. Microsoft says this helps sellers spend less time on administrative tasks and more time building relationships and closing deals.

The second agent announced today is built directly into Dynamics 365 Sales to help manage the entire sales process. The agent is designed to work behind the scenes to automate data capture, streamline workflows and keep records up to date.

The agent automatically tracks interactions across emails, meetings and calls as sellers engage with customers to ensure that records, contact details and sales pipelines stay accurate without manual input.

Throughout the sales cycle, the agent provides AI-powered insights to prioritize deals and identify accounts that may require attention. The agent is also able to flag potential risks, highlight stalled opportunities and suggest actions to keep deals moving forward.

When meetings finish, the agent generates summaries, updates CRM entries and drafts follow-up communications, helping sellers focus on progressing relationships instead of managing documentation.

To support both agents, Microsoft also introduced Sales Chat, a new conversational experience in Microsoft Teams that lets sellers retrieve key sales information through natural-language prompts. By asking questions such as “What’s the status of my top deals?” or “Show me recent activity for this account,” teams can quickly find insights from Dynamics 365 Sales without leaving their chat environment.

Microsoft says that Sales Chat is designed to reduce context switching by bringing CRM data directly into everyday conversations, helping sales teams stay connected, informed and ready to take action. The company describes the feature as a central part of its effort to make AI-powered selling more seamless across the tools sellers already use.

The new Sales Agents and Sales Chat are available in preview today for customers using Microsoft 365 Copilot and Dynamics 365 Sales, with general availability expected later this year.
