The rapid rise of artificial intelligence is transforming cybersecurity asset management, forcing businesses to adapt quickly — a shift made even more urgent by recent policy changes that add new layers of risk.
This evolving landscape has created a pressing need for solutions that can keep pace with both the speed of AI adoption and shifting regulatory pressures. That’s where companies such as Axonius Inc. step in, offering businesses a way to regain control over their sprawling cybersecurity assets. Axonius’ cybersecurity asset management platform keeps track of customers’ digital infrastructure, including their devices, identities and software-as-a-service applications. The company recently raised $200 million in new funding to fuel its global expansion.
“Security teams struggle with two huge obstacles that Axonius helps to address,” said Jackie McGuire, principal analyst for theCUBE Research. “First, you can’t protect what you can’t see, and Axonius provides customers detailed visibility of agents, configurations and assets. Secondly, context is critical in security. Axonius provides both a singular place to see data, reducing context switching, as well as the intelligence from the environment needed to make security decisions with detailed data.”
Axonius Adapt25 will feature leaders in security, IT and risk management, with exclusive coverage on March 25 from theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. Hosted by Rebecca Knight with analysis from McGuire and Rob Strechay, managing director and principal analyst at theCUBE Research, the discussion covers cybersecurity asset management trends and the future of the Axonius platform.
One of the dangers of incautious AI usage is that it can open up new vulnerabilities in the system. At the recent HumanX AI conference, panelists highlighted the importance of keeping the human in the loop when it comes to cybersecurity automation. When not properly informed, employees could use models that put company security at risk.
“From a governance and control perspective, getting a handle on the attack plane surface and where you might be vulnerable is an ever evolving landscape,” Strechay said. “Knowing and securing that full landscape has become more important than ever.”
AI-driven automation will likely improve cyber resilience while spurring a change in the current data protection system, according to research from theCUBE. Axonius looks to play a key role in that shift, supporting companies as they update their current infrastructure and integrate AI throughout the company hierarchy.
“As increasing numbers of employees, contractors, AI agents and partners need access to enterprise data, the challenge of securing platforms … will become even more complex,” McGuire said. “Robust, granular controls, automated action detection (AI agents) and exfiltration detection will be critical in enabling autonomous agents and employees to access and share the data they need to do their jobs, without exposing an organization to increased risk.”
