Scamnetic lands $13M to scale up its AI-driven scam defense platform

Artificial intelligence-based scam protection startup Scamnetic Inc. announced today that it has raised $13 million in new funding to enhance its marketing, sales and customer support operations, as well as to accelerate its product development roadmap to meet growing global demand.

Founded in 2022, Scamnetic uses advanced AI to detect and prevent digital scams. The company aims to restore trust in online interactions by providing comprehensive protection against fraud and deception across communication channels.

The Scamnetic platform is designed to take on the full gauntlet of modern scams, such as phishing, impersonation, deepfake schemes and fraudulent messages, by analyzing content across emails, texts, social media, QR codes, physical mail and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram.

Scamnetic scans inputs under a process it calls “Scan&Score,” which evaluates incoming communications in real time, assigning a risk level that helps users quickly determine whether something is suspicious or not.

Another feature, called “IDEveryone,” verifies identities across video, voice and text to reduce the risks of scams in high-risk scenarios such as online dating, financial transactions and social media marketing by confirming who’s really on the other end before sensitive information or payments are shared.

If the first line of defense fails and a scam slips through, Scamnetic additionally offers “Scam Intervention,” a 24/7 hotline staffed with experts who assist victims in recovering assets and securing their digital lives. The human-led support complements the company’s automated defenses with hands-on assistance.

The Series A rounded was led by Roo Capital, with 1st and Main Growth Partners, SaaS Ventures and Riptide Ventures also participating.

“We’ve always believed that the greatest threat to consumers isn’t just fraud — it’s the erosion of trust,” said John Evans, chief operating officer of Scamnetic. “This raise enables us to accelerate our mission: restoring confidence in a world increasingly plagued by scams.”

The new funding takes the total raised by Scamnetic to $16 million.
