AI-driven automation is reshaping how enterprises approach integration and operations, shifting from rule-based execution to smarter, more adaptive systems. That evolution was front and center at Boomi World 2025, where leaders emphasized automation that’s both fast and responsive, powered by embedded artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Boomi LP enables AI-driven automation through its low-code integration platform, enhanced with embedded AI and machine learning capabilities. These capabilities enable organizations to build smarter, faster and more adaptive automation across systems, applications and workflows, according to Sanjay Menon (pictured), vice president of strategy and business deployment at Boomi.
Boomi’s Sanjay Menon talks with theCUBE about the impact of AI-driven automation.
“This week is about AI-driven automation and how we’re trying to just meet customers where they are,” Menon said. “I think one thing we’re hearing from customers is they want to be API-led. There are some things where you’re on a factory floor and you have some legacy systems that you just have to connect through with maybe some robots, maybe some basically legacy hard code.”
Menon spoke with theCUBE’s Savannah Peterson and Paul Nashawaty at Boomi World, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Boomi is accelerating the adoption of AI-driven automation in real-world enterprise settings. (* Disclosure below.)
Combining AI-driven automation with application programming interfaces yields interconnected, real-time, and intelligent systems. APIs play a pivotal role by connecting disparate systems, collecting data and triggering automated actions, according to Menon.
“Generally, customers are saying, ‘Hey, in this modern world, I have to be API-led. I actually want everything to be APIs on top of the entire process,’” he said. “That’s where we can actually help customers and say, ‘You’re going that route. Modernize everything and make it API-led, but then what are those APIs going to touch, ultimately? You want to expose them to agents, [large language models], other cloud applications [and] legacy applications.’ I think how we’d approach it is [to] just abstract it a level up and we’ll help you get there.”
Boomi Agentstudio is a powerful feature within the Boomi Enterprise Platform that enables hybrid integration across cloud and on-premises systems. It’s designed to streamline the deployment, management and monitoring of integration agents, according to Menon.
“There are a lot of human-in-the-loop errors and processes that could fall out,” he said. “Any place where we can take out human error makes a lot of sense for an agent to go in. Every part of validation upfront, [from retrieval-augmented generation] to a policy about your pricing, for example. Next step, have an agent check your [enterprise resource planning] and make sure you have the inventory. We just want those agents to push those for us, whether that’s file transfer, actual document transfer or APIs.”
