As Boomi World 2025 progressed, a strong narrative began to unfurl around the future of enterprise integration, artificial intelligence and data strategy: Ethical AI adoption has never been more pressing.
TCS’ Pallavi Chaudhary and Prafulla Mhatre discuss AI governance and integrations with theCUBE.
Consumer and enterprise applications are evolving toward interconnectedness. How is the added AI layer poised to shape application programming interfaces and their usage as strategic assets in the coming years?
“I firmly believe that APIs play a pivotal role in any enterprise transformation,” said Prafulla Mhatre (pictured, left), global head of enterprise integration, Enterprise Solutions Unit, at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. “According to Gartner, 90% of modern applications use APIs for data and services connectivity. Furthermore, APIs act as a backbone for any enterprise transformation because it shields the complexity of the underlying business or applications by exposing an easy way to communicate and a reliable and secure way to communicate.”
Mhatre, alongside Pallavi Chaudhary (second from left), head of technology for iPaaS and data integration at TCS, and Barry Gerdsen (second from right), chief technology officer of channels and alliances at Boomi LP, spoke with theCUBE’s Savannah Peterson at Boomi World, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the imperative for astute API management and the enforcement of ethical practices as AI adoption becomes mainstream. (* Disclosure below.)
Given the complexity of today’s IT landscape, companies need a unified integration platform that evolves with business needs. Platforms infused with AI — such as Boomi’s evolving suite — enable scalability, flexibility and significant cost efficiency, according to Chaudhary.
“I think this is very well aligned with Boomi as well, [the idea of] one platform and automation with AI,” she said. “If we talk about Boomi’s recent acquisition in terms of APIs, in terms of data, I think what it does is providing solutions across multiple integration platforms. The need of the hour is being an adaptive AI-integrated platform.”
The choruses calling for the adoption of ethical AI harmonize around governance. As organizations race to adopt AI, controlling agent sprawl, managing APIs and enforcing ethical AI practices will be vital. Boomi’s Agent Control Tower feature serves as an example, offering visibility and control across an enterprise’s AI and integration landscape.
