Web and mobile testing company BrowserStack Inc. today announced the launch of Testing Toolkit, a new Google Chrome extension that brings more than 10 essential manual testing tools into one solution.
The new extension seeks to address the issue wherein manual web testing has become increasingly fragmented. BrowserStack argues that today, quality assurance teams are forced to juggle at least a half-dozen extensions and apps, switching between tabs, logging into multiple accounts, and losing hours each week to setup and context switching. Additionally, many QA teams miss out on tools that can improve coverage, especially for checks such as accessibility and responsive design.
The new Testing Toolkit has been designed to bring “order to this chaos” with one one-click access to a suite of capabilities, including cross-browser testing across more than 3,500 browser combinations.
The extension delivers test coverage with more than 10 integrated tools, including responsive testing, accessibility checks and visual overlay comparison. Testing Toolkit offers one-click bug reporting, automatically capturing screenshots, console logs, network data and system details to ensure complete and accurate issue documentation.
Other features of Testing Toolkit include artificial intelligence-powered test case generation, cookie and cache management, JSON formatting and the ability to modify HTTP requests and responses. Additionally, workflow automation for repetitive tasks simplifies the testing process by helping teams save time and work more efficiently.
“Testing Toolkit was born out of a simple observation: we saw how fragmented manual web testing workflows had become,” said Nakul Aggarwal, co-founder and chief technology officer of BrowserStack. “With this launch, we’re giving testers and developers a powerful yet lightweight way to streamline their daily tasks. No clutter. Just better testing.”
Testing Toolkit is now available for free on the Chrome Web Store, letting teams reclaim lost productivity hours.
BrowserStack was previously in the news in June when it announced the launch of BrowserStack AI, a suite of AI agents designed to automate and enhance every stage of the software testing lifecycle.
The company is also venture capital-backed, having raised $253 million over four rounds, including rounds of $200 million in June 2021 and $50 million in January 2018. Investors in the company include Bond Capital Management LP, Insight Venture Partners LP, Accel Partners LP and Quarkshares Inc.
