Identity management will be a major subject of conversation during Okta's Oktane 2025. AI

What to expect during Okta’s Oktane event: Join theCUBE Sept. 24-25

Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are colliding in ways that make identity the new control point for enterprise trust. As zero-trust models expand and AI agents multiply, identity management is becoming a frontline issue for organizations.

Okta Inc. has been positioning itself at the center of this shift, framing identity as the new control plane for AI-driven, zero-trust enterprise infrastructure. Oktane will further explore how identity is the new perimeter, according to Jackie McGuire, security practice lead and principal analyst of theCUBE Research.

“The explosion of AI agents, services and connections has ushered in a new era of identity and access management,” she said. “Oktane 2025 will showcase how Okta plans to help its customers keep pace with this change and secure all of the human and non-human identities it brings.”

McGuire, along with a team of analysts from theCUBE, will discuss identity management and enterprise trust during the event. Join theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, from Sept. 24-25 for live coverage of Oktane. (* Disclosure below.)

Identity management as a frontline issue

Last month, Okta reported that its revenue for the second quarter rose 13% from a year ago, with subscription revenue up 12%. The company also posted strong cash flow and said its unified identity platform was “winning customers ranging from the world’s largest global organizations to massive government agencies.”

“In the age of AI, Okta’s independence and neutrality will continue to give organizations the freedom to innovate securely and on their own terms,” said Todd McKinnon, chief executive officer and co-founder of Okta, in a release.

Over the past few months, the company has been busy detailing new developments. That includes an August announcement that it plans to acquire Axiom Security Ltd., a startup with a platform for managing user access to sensitive applications, and a June launch of Cross App Access to secure AI agent interactions.

In this new era, many IT and security teams already have large chunks of budget committed to AI projects across the enterprise. Ensuring return on investment on these projects is more than just figuring out what agents can automate; it’s also containing the potential legal, financial and brand risk of AI gone awry, according to McGuire.

“Rapid expansion of agentic AI means security leaders are now tasked with establishing identity and access management policies and procedures for an entirely new category of operators, capable of moving and breaking things at the speed of data,” she said. “Discovering and properly managing IAM, resource privileging, data security and cloud security will be the linchpin in the success of enterprise AI projects, and business leaders can leverage conferences like Oktane to help them learn from the experience of experts, partners and peers.”

These subjects and more will be a major focus during Oktane. TheCUBE will provide full coverage of the event, offering analyst-driven commentary on identity management and enterprise trust. You can follow theCUBE’s wall-to-wall coverage for firsthand insights.
