Anchor Forge Ltd., the maker of a developer platform using cloud-based web browsers and artificial intelligence agents, said today it has raised $6 million in seed funding.
Autonomous AI agents are on the rise. These intelligent software systems can plan and carry out tasks similar to a person, including visiting web pages, accessing information, and using software tools.
A new breed of AI agents now also exist that can use websites similar to the way people do: click buttons, drag-and-drop, enter text in forms and more.
“Agentic AI is only as useful as its ability to act in the real world, and in today’s enterprise, that means acting on the web,” said Idan Raman, co-founder and chief executive of Anchor.
With this new funding, Anchor is launching b0.dev, a solution that can automate anything done in a browser in the cloud. Anchor said b0 works differently from other AI browser solutions by running the AI model during the planning stage to create the tasks that it will execute and then run through its plan.
Users and developers can send a request in natural language, such as “Compare stock prices of Tesla, Apple and Amazon in Yahoo Finance,” or “Go to the official Notion website. Collect pricing pages, list all plan tiers, monthly vs. annual costs and highlight any usage-based limits.”
The AI agent then breaks down the task using the prompt and an AI model and interprets how to execute it based on what it can “see” in the cloud browser. Unlike other agentic AI browser solutions, Anchor’s agents only use large language models during the planning stage, instead of every time the task is assigned. Using this approach, the agents can complete elaborate workflows using websites with less AI overhead.
According to Anchor, many other browser automation solutions simulate interactions abstractly, by looking at the underlying code of web pages, such as structure and code. Alternatively, Anchor renders the full visual web environment for interaction, similar to a human. By rendering the webpage for AI to interact with, it increases the reliability and robustness of AI-driven workflows.
“Most of the web is still inaccessible to AI because it wasn’t designed for machines,” Raman added. “Our mission is to bridge that gap, reliably, securely and at scale.”
Anchor has collaborated with AI companies, including Groq Inc. and Unify AI Business Co., along with strategic partners like Cloudflare Inc. and Coinbase Global Inc., to enhance cybersecurity, improve data infrastructure and develop AI-native tools.
“Anchor has one of the best developer experiences in the industry,” said Benjamin Klieger, a builder at Groq. “The APIs are intuitive and documentation is clear, such that we built our MVP in less than an hour.”
Groq uses Anchor to spin up multiple cloud-based browsers in parallel to power Compound, the company’s comprehensive research agent. It integrates OpenAI’s GPT-OSS 120B and Llama 4 models to interact with websites and handle code execution.
Under the hood, Anchor agents can connect to a large number of different AI model providers as long as they provide a compatible agent framework. Currently, Anchor supports LLMs from OpenAI, Google LLC, Anthropic PBC, Groq and Microsoft Inc.’s Azure. The platform can work with virtually any LLM through standardized protocols such as Model Context Protocol and application programming interfaces.
Numerous web-browsing AI agents currently exist, including specialized tools such as Perplexity AI Inc.’s Comet and OpenAI Operator, that can interact with web pages autonomously. Browse AI Inc. also launched a no-code platform that can interact with web pages to scrape and interpret data. Some agents are part of developer platforms, while others, such as Comet and Opera AI, are integrated into web browsers themselves.
