Clipto raises funding at $250M valuation to revolutionize on-device content management

Clipto Inc., a generative artificial intelligence company developing an AI-native multimodal operating system, announced a new funding round today valuing the company at more than $250 million.

The latest round follows multiple back-to-back funding rounds since July 2025, including a Pre-A, Pre-A+ and Pre-A++. Although the company did not reveal the current round amount, it raised $4 million from investors in its prior venture capital round. The latest round included participation from HSG, GL Ventures, EnvisionX Capital, Palm Drive Capital, Hans Tung, Lu Zhang and 522 Ventures.

Founded in 2023, Clipto builds foundational multimodal models and agent-level capabilities that run entirely on users’ devices. This approach provides enhanced security and privacy. This gives creative and knowledge professionals the ability to process, organize, and search text, audio, image, and video libraries efficiently without relying on cloud services.

The company calls its private media management with AI “the last missing piece of the content creation workflow.”

Clipto’s AI platform enables users quickly and easily to search media by face, dialogue or description. Users can retrieve text, video and images based on keywords or ideas in seconds, streamlining research and content creation. The software offers audio-to-text and video-to-text transcription and translation, and generates transcripts for YouTube and TikTok, helping users manage and repurpose diverse content easily.

For students and professionals, it provides templated transcription for meetings, business, finance, legal and medical. In addition, it offers numerous converters and downloaders for capturing video and audio for transcription from websites.

The company has developed over 10 proprietary multimodal AI models designed to surpass the current state-of-the-art accuracy and performance. The company said it did this to enable large-scale, real-time inference directly on laptops and mobile devices.

As more professionals turn to AI, the question of privacy and cost has become an increasing concern. According to Clipto, local AI is becoming a necessity, not a mere luxury. In the same vein, the computing industry is racing to produce ever more powerful graphics processing units and neural processing units to enable equally powerful AI models on-device.

Currently, Clipto AI is available as web-based platform and a native macOS application. Transcription services are accessible through the web interface and the dedicated Mac application provides powerful offline capabilities.
