Artificial intelligence-powered security operations platform startup Onit Security Inc. launched today and announced that it has raised $11 million in funding to accelerate product development and expand go-to-market efforts.

Founded in 2025, Onit Security offers an exposure management platform that is designed to address the operational bottlenecks that arise between identifying vulnerabilities and remediating them.

The company’s platform is built on agentic architecture that focuses on reducing large vulnerability backlogs by connecting exposure data with business context, ownership information and remediation workflows. The platform targets gaps in traditional vulnerability management processes, where alerts and findings accumulate faster than they can be analyzed and resolved.

The platform works by ingesting data from multiple sources, such as vulnerability scanners, asset inventories and security tools, with AI agents then analyzing the data to correlate exposures with affected systems, determine asset ownership and map relationships across environments. Notably, the agents prioritize exposures based on actual business context rather than generic Common Vulnerability Scoring System scores.

Once exposures are identified and prioritized, the platform coordinates remediation through automated workflows, assigning ownership based on inferred or discovered asset responsibility before then generating remediation actions and executing predefined resolution strategies.

When a remediation pattern is defined for a specific type of exposure, the system can apply the same logic to similar cases. That allows for repeated execution without manual intervention and reduces the reliance on ticket-based processes.

The platform is ideal for enterprise environments with distributed infrastructure, where vulnerabilities span cloud, on-premises and hybrid systems. Use cases include vulnerability management, exposure prioritization, remediation orchestration and continuous monitoring of security posture across complex organizational environments.

Although only formally launching today, Onit Security is already working with Fortune 1000 customers. It says earlier users have seen mean time to remediation reduced by up to 87%.

The seed funding round was led by Hetz Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with unnamed angel investors also participating.
