Aranya debuts cluster-scale operating system, partners with Hydra Host on ‘bare-metal AI’

Aranya Inc., a startup building a cluster-scale operating system built to meet demand for the next generation of supercomputer, launched today with major partnerships with top artificial intelligence inference leaders.

One of the company’s first partnerships is with Hydra Host Inc., an Nvidia Corp. cloud partner focused on bare-metal deployments. Hydra Host chose Aranya’s flagship ClusteredOS which turns Kubernetes into an accessible, reproducible, self-healing system that can solve complex infrastructure bottlenecks that have stalled inference as demand reaches all-time highs.

Founded in 2025, Aranya is taking on execution, which the company says is the next battleground in artificial intelligence. Aranya argues that until now, winning has required a large, dedicated platform team and that without one, even the most promising models struggle to reach production.

The gap between needing a dedicated platform team and having one causes, in Aranya’s words, a “fundamental tradeoff.” Hyperscaler-managed services offer ease of use but limit control and become prohibitively expensive at large scale. Meanwhile, custom infrastructure offers flexibility but requires specialized engineering talent that few teams can afford.

Kubernetes has emerged as the standard for orchestrating distributed compute for modern applications, but putting it into operation for AI inference remains complex and resource-intensive. This is where Aranya’s offering steps in.

Aranya’s ClusterdOS fills the gap between Kubernetes, distributed systems and AI infrastructure with an open-source, distributed operating system that turns raw compute into batteries-included, ready-for-production AI supercomputers. ClusterdOS handles the full cluster lifecycle, including bootstrapping, maintaining and upgrading with minimal effort and provides a straightforward framework for adding and versioning distributed cloud-native applications, configurable through simple high-level feature flags.

For Hydra Host, Aranya says that ClusterdOS reduced production cluster setup time from two to six weeks to under 48 hours and built custom architecture that neutralized recurring data center failures, cutting cluster downtime by 90%.

“A growing number of customers need more than raw infrastructure. They need a faster, more reliable path to production,” said Hydra Host co-founder and Chief Executive Aaron Ginn. “This partnership with Aranya brings together Hydra Host’s bare metal compute and operational support with Aranya’s Kubernetes expertise, giving customers a more complete solution for deploying and scaling real workloads with less complexity.”

Although formally launching only today, Aranya’s partners are already deploying ClusterdOS across more than 1,700 graphics processing units to run critical inference pipelines at large scale, backed by 24/7 monitoring, security patching and custom integrations that eliminate the need for a dedicated platform team.

The company did not disclose who was backing it at launch, but according to public records, it has raised early-stage venture capital funding.

Moving forward, Aranya said, it’s building for a reality where, as AI assistants become as deeply embedded in daily workflows as any full-time collaborator, the compute demands of a single developer are beginning to look like those of an entire team.

The future, as Aranya sees it, is one where every person needs a cluster’s worth of inference compute and an operating system to manage it, with ClusterdOS handling the infrastructure layer and managing the full cluster lifecycle with minimal overhead.
