Mind raises $72M to stop sensitive data leaking into AI tools
Data loss prevention startup Mind Security Inc. today announced it has raised $72 million in new funding to push further into large enterprise accounts with new hires and channel partnerships.
Mind provides software that locates sensitive files wherever an organization keeps them, in software-as-a-service applications, on endpoints and in email, then classifies each one on content as well as context. Controls sit on top of that inventory. Risky activity can be blocked outright, or the person who triggered it gets a prompt explaining which policy the action would break.
Older DLP products were written for predictable, human-paced workflows. Mind argues that the assumption behind them collapses once artificial intelligence agents begin reading, transforming and sharing company data with nobody in the loop. Research the company published this year found that 65% of enterprises lack confidence in the controls they have over the data feeding their AI systems.
Some of the day-to-day running of a DLP program has been handed to the software itself. Mind released a set of AI DLP Agents in July that build custom classifiers, draft policies and investigate incidents, and analysts can direct them in plain language through a Model Context Protocol interface.
“Security leaders are being asked to protect data that moves at AI speed with complex, manual and incomplete tools designed for a slower world,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Eran Barak. “DLP is a massive, established market, but it was not built with AI in mind.”
Growth has been steep by the company’s own account. Mind said revenue rose more than 17-fold over the past year and its customer count eightfold, without disclosing the underlying figures, though Barak described a business with eight-figure revenue and dozens of customers. The software now runs across hundreds of thousands of endpoints.
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles uses it to keep protected health information out of AI tools running on staff devices, Chief Information Officer Conrad Band said. At the National Geographic Society the software labels sensitive documents and restricts public sharing. Mark DeCarlo, senior manager of security engineering and technology there, said it also gives his team a view of “where and when our data interacts with AI agents.”
The startup has also been collecting credentials that few data security vendors hold. In May it became the first such company accepted into Anthropic PBC’s Cyber Verification Program, which lifts the default limits on dual-use security work for vetted firms. It also holds ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management systems.
Crosspoint Capital Partners led the Series B round, with participation from returning backers YL Ventures Ltd. and Paladin Capital Group. Mind launched in October 2024 on $11 million in seed funding from YL Ventures, then raised a $30 million Series A in June 2025 led by Paladin and Crosspoint.
Zach Sivertson, a managing director at Crosspoint, said Mind’s progress since the Series A his firm helped lead and its run as a top 10 finalist in the 2025 RSAC Innovation Sandbox contest had “further strengthened our conviction in the company.” Counting the earlier rounds, the company puts its total funding at $112 million.
