Apple Could Release New iPad 3 With A6 Chip

Earlier this month, rumors regarding Apple’s iPad Mini kicked up a notch when sources claimed that they are already in mass production, ready to be unveiled on October 17 and will go on sale on November 2nd.

The iPad Mini is said to sport a 7.85-inch liquid crystal display and will have the same tech specs as the iPad 2 as it will be replacing it.  Plus it will be priced much cheaper at $250-$299.

Some sources claim that two new versions of the iPad 2 appeared in logs, “ iPad 2,5” and “iPad 2,6.”  This could mean that the iPad mini will be launched in the iPad 2 line, or Apple is updating their iPad 2 line.  But why would they update their iPad 2 line when they already did that last year instead of launching an iPad 3 in name?  It could be that Apple wants to cater to people on a tight budget, so they might release a cheaper iPad 2 which could possibly mean that cheaper is smaller, hence the iPad Mini.

Speaking of the iPad 3, according to an unnamed developer, there’s evidence pointing to a new version of the recently released iPad 3.  The iPad 3 versions are “iPad3,1″, “iPad3,2″, and “iPad3,3” which pertains to the WiFi or cellular models whose specifications are centered around the mobile carrier they are or are not with.  The developer noted that a new version “iPad3,6” showed up in his app analytics making him believe that a new version of the iPad 3 would be introduced and will feature an A6 chip like the one used in the iPhone 5 or an iPad customized version of the A6 chip.  The new version of the iPad 3 will also sport the new Lightning connector so it will be streamlined with the new iPhone 5, iPhone Touch and iPod Nano which all sport the new connector.
