An estimated one million people pre-ordered an Apple Watch on April 10, spending on average $503.83 per watch. If you are one of those people, you may want to use your Apple Watch to keep a close eye on your hard earned cash. You likely already have an iPhone app to help you budget, pay your bills on time or keep track of your investments. Many of these popular personal finance apps have extended functionality to include support for Apple Watch.
We’ve put together a list of six iOS apps that will let you manage your money right from your wrist:
Already a top-rated iPhone and Mac app, iBank has added support for the Apple Watch. The app’s Glance screen lets you see how your investments are performing, view your budgets and income vs. expenses. A ‘today line’ shows how well you are sticking to your monthly budget. You can also drill down into investment and non-investment accounts to see balances and transactions.
Intuit, makers of QuickBooks, has released Mint for Apple Watch. The app tracks day-to-day spending and suggests spending and savings goals for various parts of your life. You can create a budget, get reminders to pay bills and get tips for saving money and reducing fees.
MoneyWiz 2 brings many of the popular iPhone and Mac features to your wrist. With MoneyWiz 2 for Apple Watch, you can track expenses and income by amount, account, category and payee and check your account balances.
Pennies for Apple Watch lets you create recurring or one-off budgets and help you keep track of your spending. You can create categories and assign budgets to them and Pennies will tell you how much or how little you have left to spend on a particular item. You can have daily, weekly or monthly budgets.
Unspent tracks your spending money by letting you set simple budgets for custom items or categories and helps you keep track of your spending as you add purchases. You can also see how much you have left to spend in any of your pre-defined categories.
BillGuard, also an Android app, lets you track your expenses, view all your accounts and receive alerts for unwanted or potentially fraudulent transactions. The Apple Watch extension shows you where your money is going at a glance.
