In their latest announcement / semi-disclosed piece of friendly G-mail propaganda, Google had announced in their latest blog that they updated the ever-popular G-mail service, and “finally,” as quoted from one of our editors here at SiliconANGLE, and gave users the option to turn off the default “Conversation View”.
“Users who prefer a traditional inbox can toggle off conversation view to see email as individual messages in chronological order.”
This update, apparently rolled out because of indirectly-aimed pressure and demand by forum members, is a very valuable one for a great deal of users, who prefer to see their plain-old, same-old e-mail unthreaded, unallocated and sorted according to chronological order as usual. With Hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL, etc. competing head-to-head with Google on the hundreds of millions if not billions of e-mail users, the feature war is a conflict that’s been going on for quite some time now, and Google seems eager to catch the “above time” tidewater as early as possible.
Google’s updated several Gmail features in recent weeks, the most notable being the addition of the Priority Inbox. Beyond its web app, Google’s been making changes for its mobile version of Gmail as well.
