AppFormix takes cloud infrastructure one step further | #OpenStackSeattle

Sumeet Singh, CEO of AppFormix, Inc., a cloud monitoring and control solutions company based in San Jose, California, spoke with John Furrier, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during OpenStack Seattle 2015 to discuss cloud evolution.

Cloud monitoring is key to bringing the cloud to the enterprise, Furrier noted. And, according to Singh, “The cloud experience is not about just finding distribution and deploying it, it’s about keeping the cloud up and running. It’s about ensuring that the applications are getting the SLAs. That’s the gap that we wanted to bridge.”

Taking full advantage of the cloud

Singh also discussed an application’s tendency to take full advantage of the cloud.

“Companies have one share infrastructure,” he said. “All applications run on the same cloud. In terms of management, that’s a nightmare because you have a single environment and you run everything on this environment. Every application that you spin on the cloud thinks it owns the cloud, and it’s going to behave as such. How do you manage performance of all those apps as they coexist in the cloud? Policy driven infrastructure needs to go one step further.”
