Singing the praises of Windows Phone 7, and who really is to blame for iPhone problems?

I just got this rather interesting email from a longtime friend, who I trust implicitly, of an exchange he had with a very close friend of his who works for a major wireless provider in the U.S.image

It provides some interesting thoughts on the iPhone and how some carriers are actually looking forward to carrying the Windows Phone 7.

I called up a friend of mine in [ed: city name removed] who has worked in AT&T Wireless support for years. I probably hadn’t talked to her in a year, and the first thing out of her mouth was, “I fucking hate Steve Jobs.  I hate him.”  Then she went on to affirm what I had long suspected, which was that the “problems” long associated with the iPhone are all due to the phone and not the AT&T’s network.  She said, “The iPhone is like the little brother who is constantly poking you yelling “Hey! Hey! HEY!” and it makes the network go crazy.”

Then, she literally started *SINGING*  “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of The Phone…”

Yes…she was talking about WP7.   “Aren’t they..beautiful?”

When I told her that I’d probably go with T-Mo because of the prices she said, “Hey, I don’t blame you. Customers vote with their dollar.”

I know that like my friend I would be lining up on launch day here in Canada to get my hands on one of the new Windows Phone 7′s, but given that I am still in the first year of a three year contract with Telus, my chances are really slim.
