Talented IT people have a lot of choices about where to take a job these days. Companies have different strategies for attracting the best — some beef up salaries, others get creative with perks, but one company is attracting talent by simply giving them a place to work on innovative projects.
Maya Strelar-Migotti, EVP and interim co-CEO of Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., said, “It’s not easy to get the best talent.” She told Lisa Martin (@Luccazara), cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the recent ACG SV Grow Awards 2016, “The best talented people want to work for a company that is offering permanent advancement in their knowledge.”
She added that the semiconductor market is geared for advancements, and that is exciting to young talent. “We want to bring invention and innovation to the products, and that is extremely attractive to the top talent,” she stated.
Strelar-Migotti was enthusiastic about the future of Marvell and of semiconductors in general.
“There are billions and billions and billions more of the chips that are going to be delivered in the world of IoT, where every device that will benefit from being connected will be connected,” she said. “There is a great future for the semiconductor industry.”
