How to schedule a Lyft ride 24 hours in advance

Lyft Inc. has launched a new feature that will allow users to schedule their Lyft rides ahead of time. While Lyft’s core business will remain focused on on-demand rides, the ability to schedule rides will assist customers when they need to make a trip to the airport, or have an important business meeting or an appointment scheduled in a few hours or the next day.

How to schedule your Lyft ride?

Make sure you have the latest version of the Lyft app for iOS or Android installed on your device.

Follow the normal process as you would when booking a Lyft ride, but if you want to schedule a ride to collect you in a few hours or the next day, tap the clock icon next to your pickup location. Select your pickup time, tap Set pickup time > tap Schedule Lyft.

Scheduling rides ahead of time is a feature that Gett (GT Get Taxi Ltd.), a ridesharing service in New York, has been doing for the past year, allowing customers to schedule rides up to two weeks ahead of time.

The functionality to schedule Lyft rides is rolling out to users in San Francisco, with more passengers getting to enjoy the feature in the summer.
