Digital transformation requires a roadmap, tour guide when it comes to ERP | #SAPPHIRENOW

When your business is on the journey of digital transformation, you need a roadmap and a tour guide to get you from point A to point B. Panaya, Ltd. recently became an Infosys company, and its role is to be the guide that navigates the path for customers to perform all their changes in their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment by providing ERP quality assurance.

Gaby Koren, EVP of the Americas at Panaya, sat down with John Furrier (@furrier) and Peter Burris (@plburris), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the SAP Sapphire event in Orlando, FL, to explain the process and the company’s role within Infosys.

Role playing

Panaya consults with customer and analyzes their environment in order to create mapping that provide an overview of the project at hand. “We support them with scoping all the changes, and then we work with them throughout the journey of executing on all the testing cycles associated with all the changes,” according to Koren,

In her role as EVO for the Americas, Koren supports all customers in the region. Her goal is to make the company’s offering available to customers to accelerate the transformation process, to bring innovation, and to bring much more efficiency to all the SAP projects and activities that they perform with Panaya customers.

Problem solving

The SaaS, cloud-based solution helps customers to perform all the tasks faster and more efficiently. Because ERP is a changing at a rapid pace, Koren said, “The pain we are trying to address is the fact that the change is constant in ERP. ERP is never an island or an isolated solution, and it always changes the core of a lot of the businesses that we meet.”

Panaya customers’ systems are highly customized, so every change that comes from a vendor or from a business requirement demands a great deal of preparation and fast execution. Koren explains how her team plays an important role by simulating the change virtually in the cloud by telling customers in advance what is going to happen to their environment.

The company works all the way to the code line level and consults with the customer to tell the what is going to break and how to fix it. It also advises the customer about what to test and supports them again throughout all the testing cycles from the technical test all the way to User Acceptance Tests (UATs).

The vision and value

When Furrier asked Koren about Infosys Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vishal Sikka, she called him a visionary, adding that she admires his mission to make a difference when it comes to supporting customers and collaboration. “He is also very personable; he is very approachable; he loves ideas as innovation and he believes that innovation comes from within [the organization],” she said

As an Infosys company, Panaya remains an independent organization and is committed to supporting and remain objective regardless of the vendor the customer chooses. How does a customer control multiple system integrators working on different pieces of the infrastructure? As Koren illustrated, “We paint the right picture of where you are today, where you want to go, and the journey for doing that. This is one of the claims of victory for Panaya … we bring that control back to the hands of the customers.”
