Google helps you stay up-to-date on all the Rio 2016 Olympic action
Two weeks ago, Google introduced a tool that will assist voters in the U.S. presidential elections. Now the company is once again lending a helping hand with new features that will ensure you do not miss out on any of the Rio 2016 Olympics that start this week, August 5.
We look at the new features including medal tallies, athlete bios, video highlights, and more.
Find the Olympic action on Google Search
Finding information on the 2016 Olympic Games is simplified in Search, including the ability to get medal tallies for each of the countries competing, athlete bios, and event schedules.
Tip: When you search via the Android or iOS Google app you can sign up for automatic alerts for medal wins and top events.
Video highlights on YouTube
If you are unable to watch your favorite Olympic events live due to time zone difference or are simply too busy, you can watch video highlights on YouTube. Google has teamed up with broadcasters, including BBC, America Movil and Japan’s NHK, in 60-plus countries to bring you the action in both YouTube’s Watch Cards and Google Search results.
There will also be mobile live streams from 15 top YouTube creators, who have been chosen to cover the 2016 Olympic Games.
