Day one of OpenStack Days saw a fast-paced start to the conference, with plenty of talk about the well-timed market navigation that OpenStack is accomplishing. This momentum is allowing the OpenStack community to thrive and setting a new tone for the direction of the industry. Nowadays people don’t care much about Gartner reports; they care about developers.
“There is so much opportunity to commercialize and monetize with this technology,” said John Furrier (@furrier), cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team. Joining Furrier in the discussion during day two of OpenStack Days was Lisa Martin (@Luccazara), fellow host of theCUBE.
Today’s guests promise to be just as exciting, as revealed in the keynote. “It’s all about dispelling myths about hybrid cloud,” said Martin. Enterprises seem to be challenged in deployment of this new technology and may be confused about how to best integrate it into their current systems. Many of today’s guests will talk about how to deal with that, along with what kind of work culture and mindset is necessary to move forward.
Notable guests include Lew Tucker, VP and CTO of Cloud Computing at Cisco Systems, Inc. Tucker is a legend in the industry, so much so that he is the only one who can claim the honor of holding an exhibit at the museum where the event is taking place. With his unique perspective, he will be able to offer insights into how previous revolutions have led to current innovations.
“It will be interesting to hear his take on the Intercloud,” added Martin. Other topics will include Kubernetes and how the recent conflict between Red Hat, Inc. and Mirantis, Inc. is developing.
