MapR intros new analytics and data scientist service for marketers

Companies can now seek the services of a data scientist to solve their marketing and sales analysis problems thanks to a new solution launched by converged data platform provider MapR Technologies Inc.

The company has just released a new marketing service called the Customer 360 Quick Start Solution, which is powered by its Converged Data Platform. The new package brings real-time data to the point of sale by performing advanced analytics in real time. It’s also able to connect marketing teams to MapR’s own data scientists using event-driven microservices, and can deploy MapR’s Converged Data Platform for multiple use cases.

“In the C-suite, CMOs may have the most to gain and the most to offer by adopting real-time Customer 360 use cases,” explained MapR Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Services Dave Jespersen.

Jesperson explained that traditional customer relationship management solutions generally aren’t as scalable, as they tend to break down when massive volumes and varieties of data are added. That’s not helpful for marketing teams, because accurate, predictive customer analytics can only come from richer data sets — a combination of behavioral, credit and social data — and machine learning models, he added.

Using MapR’s new solution, marketers can obtain a much clearer picture of what data-driven organizations need to support, be it content and ad targeting or sales and marketing operations. The idea behind MapR’s Customer 360 Quick Start Solution is to address key marketing imperatives for chief marketing officers via the planning and executing of machine learning models, officials said.

MapR added that use cases include things like call center analytics, customer up-sell and cross-sell and content targeting. In addition, MapR’s new solution will throw in discovery and planning as well as development and project execution services. Included in the execution phase are the curation of data sources, machine learning iterations, knowledge transfer to customers and continuous training and consultation services.
