Juniper Networks and Microsoft Bridge Development over Unified Communications

To continue the recently proactive acting of Juniper in terms of proving to its clients exceptional experience in accessing easily and safely the media business communication, the company announced today the compatibility between UC and Microsoft’s Lync Server2010.

Hence, the increased efficiency between unified communications experience and Microsoft Lync will assure a secure delivery and a smooth VoIP traffic. Juniper has a rich background for developing its high-end network solutions, by offering top security, functionality and flexibility. Aiming to offer the best performance to business companies, Juniper Networks follows the strategy of a reliable cost for next-generation applications.

The common step made together with Microsoft enables Juniper to find a complementary to its innovative infrastructure. Kirk Gregersen, senior director of product management for Microsoft Lync, shows off the importance of offering a single, complete and safe communication product:

“Microsoft is committed to offering a new connected user experience that transforms communication into an interaction that is more collaborative, engaging and accessible from anywhere. This can be achieved through a single, easily managed and unified platform. Juniper’s products help customers take full advantage of Lync’s delivery of presence, instant messaging, conferencing and enterprise voice capabilities through a single, easy-to-use interface for end users.”

Juniper’s three solutions that were certified to be compatible with Lync Server 2010 include M and MX Series Routers, SRX Series Services gateways and EX Series Ethernet Switches. The products were labelled as offering quality of experience (QoE) in voice, video and messaging and superior security from branch firewalls for direct connection to the roaming telecommuters.

Juniper also kept the first column of the news this week after shaking hands with Trapeze Networks, which was acquired at $152 million. The deal followed the Belden agreement and it was thought to be the last for this year.

The strategy for Juniper is undoubtedly the fast-paced innovations and this can be easily understood by their recent launch of Juniper Networks T4000 Core Router, which is powered by the Junos operating system. The new generation device, which operates at 240 GB per slot, provides unrivalled scalability and flexibility.

Microsoft is also in the same boat with Juniper, recently announcing a collaboration with EMC for supporting cloud applications. The new infrastructure released by EMC in Microsoft’s shadow is expected to increase the level of customization and efficiency in cloud computing. Microsoft is also connected to Denali MS SQL server, which comes in the play supporting cloud computing.
