Juniper Networks Reveals Plans for New India Excellence Center
To grow Juniper’s engineering talent in India and for expanded offerings of value-added services, Juniper Networks today announced the expansion of India Excellence Center (IEC), its research facility based in Bangalore, India. It currently has 1,800 staff and 300 development partners. The search for additional work force will open 750 seats and 450 equipment racks over the next two years. The site will be located in the new Prestige Exora Business Park separate from its existing campus, but still located in Bangalore.
“This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to increasing the depth of experience and expertise in the India region, which is becoming increasingly important not just as a source of engineering talent but also as a fast-growing market for Juniper Networks,” said Sridhar Sarathy, managing director of IEC at Juniper Networks. “One member of our team is among 45 elite Juniper Networks Distinguished Engineers, which is indicative of the fact that the IEC is capable of conceptualizing new system architectures and leading global product development initiatives.”
IEC is a competitive research and development center, running a scale of activities including hardware and software development, test engineering, field trials, program management, quality assurance, technical documentation and product line management. It made significant contributions to the structuring of one of Juniper’s latest market-leading innovations, the Juniper T4000 Core Router. It also offers 12-hour global customer support daily which contains all of Juniper’s products, as well as operate a Finance Shares Services Center.
Juniper’s expansion in India is only part of its plan to scale the growing demands for tighter security and high-performance networking equipment in the service of enterprises and leading service providers worldwide.
HP has recently revealed its plans for expansion in India as well, primarily to handle the growing number of services it’s looking to offer its clients.
