Rackspace expands managed services for Amazon Web Services cloud
Rackspace Inc. is stepping up its new strategy piggybacking on the success of Amazon Web Services with a new managed services offering aimed at helping enterprises get the best out of the cloud platform.
The company on Thursday launched Professional Services for AWS with what Rackspace says deep, customized expertise for the AWS cloud. Rackspace said the offering is designed to support enterprises just getting started with AWS, as well as those that are expanding their investment in the platform. Services include architectural design, cloud automation, DevOps and migrations.
“We are seeing significant interest from AWS customers for specialized expertise in discrete, value added areas, and we are committed to developing our offers and capabilities to help them fully leverage AWS throughout the entirety of their cloud journey,” Prashanth Chandrasekar, vice president and general manager of “fanatical support” for AWS at Rackspace, said in a statement.
Rackspace said the new offering aligns with its new Global Solutions and Services offering, which the company launched this month. GSS is targeted at enterprises requiring support as they plan, design, migrate and manage their cloud journey. The service is available for AWS as well as Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
For its part, AWS is happy to have Rackspace on board as a partner firm. The cloud giant recently recognized Rackspace as a Premier Consulting Partner in its partner network, noting that its AWS experts have achieved more than 800 AWS technical certifications.
Rackspace isn’t interested only in boosting its AWS managed services offerings, however. Just last month, the company said it had entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Google that will see it launch new managed services for its cloud later in the year.
