DailySteals the latest to Add Facebook Deals Integration

DailySteals.com, a daily deal Groupon competitor has announced it has introduced Facebook integration, taping the huge market around Facebook coupon seekers and social-networking. In addition to potentially gaining a huge amount of additional exposure and multiple free promotional channels, the 9,000-times-liked Daily Steals fan page is also following an existing trend.

“The 1 deal a day site also imports a feed of the Daily Steals blog [to FB].

Over half of the top 25 online retailers have enabled Facebook integration; eBay, for example, created a feature called “Group Gifts” that allows Facebook friends to share the costs of purchases.”

DailySteals.com is adding Facebook integration and social-network support after many others did, including eBay and Etsy. Like many more, it also carries on the vastly-reused Groupon tradition. Both sites as well as many others – perhaps thousands – are gaining more and more exposure and demand, thanks to the public’s deep affection to coupons. After Groupon declined Google’s $6 billion bid, the search giant began to seek for alternatives as we covered here.

Visa is also following this evolving trend, and we covered the launch of discounts app Visa Mobile aimed primary for iPhone holders with limited support for Android.

The local coupons market is definitely hot, but while sites such as Groupon – primarily Groupon – are gaining more momentum, some question the suitability of this discount model from the merchant’s perspective. Nonetheless, the demand is there, and is wide-spread enough to sustain dozens if not hundreds of start-ups and sites.  This further iterates Facebook’s dominance in the grand scheme of hyperlocal marketing as a searchable platform.
