Microsoft VP Moves to Juniper Networks, Takes on Global Marketing

The  former Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Consumer Marketing for Windows Brad Brooks had transited to Juniper Networks. Juniper announced on Jan. 19 that Brooks will serve the Juniper Vice President of Worldwide Enterprise Marketing and Solutions, after being with Microsoft for roughly 9 years. Microsoft declined to comment on company plans to replace Brooks.

“As Windows watchers may recall, Brooks isn’t the first Microsoft exec to jump to Juniper. Kevin Johnson, the former head of Microsoft’s Platforms and Services business, quit Microsoft in 2008 and became the Juniper CEO.”

Following the departure of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Johnson split the Platforms and Services division into two separate ones – Windows/Windows Live and Online Systems. Moreover, former Microsoft Group Product Manager for Web Platform Lauren Cooney also moved to Juniper and is now Director of Developer Evangelism.

Whatever may be the reason behind the Microsoft-to-Juniper employee migration, Juniper had seen other updates lately, expanding its executive team and product line. The company freshly announced the addition of the Continuing Education Program to the Juniper Learning Academy curriculum, a training and education program for company partners.

Furthermore, Juniper announced their Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) security systems and Integrated SecurityGateway (ISG) firewall/virtual private network (VPN) systems, as well as a partnership with Brazilian online media provider Terra. The partnership is meant to enable secure remote and cross-sector access to internal corporate systems and sensitive data.  Juniper’s growing team of partners is helping the company to go global in a big way, rendering Juniper one of the best vendors in the industry last December.
